May 05, LadyCalico rated it it was amazing. Apr 05, Lorna Corcoran rated it it was amazing. Then last month, someone mentioned the book, heard I hadn’t read it and loaned it to me on the spot. Of course, I found myself thinking, it would be easy to have a strong faith if you could hear God speaking audibly and He appeared in person whenever you called Him like He does for Much Afraid.
I have no doubt this was the right time for me to read this book. When Much Afraid intimates that she would love to be able to dance upon the high places as do the sure-footed deer, the Shepherd commends her for this desire.

I would actually recommend the abridged children’s version of this book more highly. I loved it and gave copies away so others could enjoy it too.
It also seems that hurnardd allegory is frequently “padded” with writing that exists solely for the sake of making a cohesive story which it doesn’t and doesn’t have any allegorical meaning.
It is only through the deepening relationship realised by those encounters and her obedience in stepping out in faith that the transformation occurs. This one is a keeper.
